Get your account ready to send — the few setup steps that make your broadcasts deliverable, compliant, and on-brand.
Work through this page when you first enable Marketing, or when your sending address, domain, or organization details change.
Setup Checklist
The Broadcasts page shows a setup checklist when you're getting started. The steps:
Take the marketing tour — a quick orientation to what segments and broadcasts are, where your data lives, and how to see which messages drove payments.
Add your privacy policy URL. This is required for compliant sending — it links from the footer of every email you send. Add it in Settings under Organization.
Add your website. Your logo and colors are pulled from your website to build your Brand Kit, so broadcasts look like you out of the box.
Set your custom email — the from-address your broadcasts send from, so messages come from your organization rather than a generic address. Set it in Settings under Marketing, in Sending emails & domains.
Send your first broadcast — see Broadcasts.
Sending Emails & Domains
Settings under Marketing has a Sending emails & domains section for your sending addresses and custom domains.
Sender address: the from-address donors see. Using your own organization's address builds trust and improves deliverability.
Custom sending domain: sending from your own domain (like mail.yourorganization.org) tells inbox providers your email is really from you. When you connect a domain, the guided setup collects what it needs from your domain host and sets up the required records automatically where supported. Domain verification can take some time to complete — you can keep working while it finishes.
Contact Health
The Marketing settings flag contacts whose email address is invalid — those donors can't be reached until the address is corrected on their contact record.
Account States
If your organization's Marketing is paused, sending stops until you re-subscribe from Settings under Billing. If your plan that includes marketing ends, your broadcast history and results stay visible so you keep your records, but new sends are blocked until you upgrade again.
Troubleshooting
Broadcast content looks generic: finish the website and Brand Kit steps so your logo and colors apply.
Emails come from a generic address: set your custom email in Sending emails & domains.
Can't complete a checklist step: the privacy policy URL and website live in Settings under Organization — you may need an admin to add them.
