Custom input fields collect extra information from supporters during a form or payment flow.
Use custom fields when you need information that CharityStack does not collect by default, such as honoree names, meal preferences, chapter names, program interests, registrant age groups, or program-specific details.
Only ask for information you will actually use. Extra fields can reduce completion rates.
Admins can manage reusable custom input fields in Settings and apply relevant fields to forms. Form-specific fields should stay limited to information needed for that giving or event experience.
Supported input types include short text, long text, single-selection dropdowns, and multi-selection dropdowns. Dropdown fields need clear options before the form is published.
Event Forms can use custom input fields for either the purchaser or attendee. Use purchaser questions for the person completing checkout, and attendee questions for information needed per ticket holder.
Use required fields sparingly. If a question is helpful for reporting but not needed to complete the payment or registration, leave it optional.
